We have fortified Jac's bottle with Nutramigen for a few days and it is a no go. His reflux immediately got worse.
The first day we fortified two of his bottles (Sunday) he spit-up through his nose. He used to do this fairly frequently (once or twice a week) but since I stopped dairy he had only done it once until Sunday. We decided that that could have been a fluke - but he also spitup again that evening.
I have fortified his milk on two more occasions (once a day) and he spit up both days. He does spit-up occassionally but they are usually identifiably from trapped air. These are spit-ups that are happening after he is finished eating (long after) and they are quiet. The "burp" spit-ups are usually a little more obvious and much closer to his feedings.
I can also see him doing "silent" reflux behaviors more - such as swallowing and coughing.
So - we are off Nutramigen. We shall see what his ped says when we go back for our thrush re-check next week.
Also, we are trying to make an appointment to see a Gastroenterologist from Children's Hospital. No love on that front yet though.
