Head ultrascan

One of the concerns that the doctors had about BBC's loss of blood (platelet and red blood cells) is that perhaps the slight hemorrhage that had shown up in a routine head ultrasound (done on his first night) might have gotten worse. Luckily, an ultrasound tech was already scheduled to visit the NICU this evening to see another baby, and so he was also scanned. The scan would later prove to be negative, and Dr. Thureen determined that his blood loss was most likely a one-time event from the initial stresses of being underdeveloped at birth and the trauma of the birth event; and that there is no ongoing health concerns that was causing the blood loss.
