Wholly Cow!

Taj's body made up for the lost opportunity to feed the baby while he was still inside... After a few attempts, she started to regularly extract 60+ ml of colostrum (the reallllly good early milk, also known as "liquid gold") at each session. In some sessions, she produced more than 120 ml in a single sitting.

Here is one of our "transport bags" containing vials of colostrum. Each vial holds about 80 ml.

The one bad news -- we didn't know until well after we had delivered the vials to the hospital and had them frozen that we should have made smaller vials of about 10 ml each. Because our son is so small, he would only get to consume very small amounts -- and any excess colostrum/milk that had been thawed for more than 24 hours will be discarded. Hopefully, most of the good stuff will get used, and not thrown away.
