Help for Mommy

With the new pregnancy I have been feeling a bot overwhelmed. It is hard to be here in Colorado, away from family, and the familiar, and in the snow and a real winter.

I have been looking for ways to help relieve some of the pressure I have been feeling and I have found a few outlets.

I have hired a new girl to help 4 days a week. Her name is Adri and she and Jac get along well. I am not ready to leave Jac with her yet but I hope we will get there eventually. For now, she is helping around the house. To hold Jac so I can have two hands, or come with me to the chiropractor like she did today.

I have started seeing a psychologist. She seems nice and we shall see how it goes. Our insurance company will pay for 20 visits so we shall see if some talk therapy can help me sort through the complex feelings I am having as a new Mom and soon to be mother of two.

I have joined a Post-Partum Depression (PPD) group at The Kempe Center in Denver. I don't have classic PPD but I am feeling overwhelmed, especially at the prospects of another potential IUGR baby on the way. I had a 4 hour long interview with the doctors that run the program and it felt so good to talk. I literally got to talk to for 4 hours. They had lots of questions that I really had to sort through in my mind to answer. It felt so good to talk about how hard the last 8 months have been (and really before that as we moved but that feels like a million years ago!). They want to meet Joseph (they have already met Jac) so we are all going down there in two weeks for another interview. I don't know that Joseph is going to enjoy the talking as much as I did but he only needs to come the once. The group is going to be a group of Mom's, with a leader from PPD group, that will meet every week for about 3 months. Each week we will discuss a different topic. I am really looking forward to it. I really don't have PPD - just an overwhelmed Momma so please don't worry!
