I have seen Bumbo seats many times - and thought for sure that an OT would say they were a terrible idea - letting kids sit up before they are ready - but she told me to get one! Who knew! Jac likes it - for short periods of time - and he can play with toys while sitting up this way. Pretty fun! I will get some better pictures of him in it this week! And maybe a video if he will let me!
The idea of the Bumbo seat is that it uses a baby's weight to allow them to sit up - before they are able to do it. As long as the baby has head control (which Jac does) they can sit up without help. Kinds cool. For short periods of time of course.
We had a bebe pod (very similar), and Luke loved it! Great-grandma was freaked out that a three month old was sitting up, certain that he would hurt himself. But it was fine, and Luke really liked that seat.
