Nice doggies!

Our dogs were curious about the new addition to the household. They spent much of the afternoon with Taj, Jac and me.

For the past two months, Taj and I have been concerned about how well Paula-dog would behave when Jac comes home. She is an anxiety-laden dog with some behavioral issues. About a week ago, we started her on Prozac and Xanax to calm her down. The meds seemed to help, but we still had no idea how she would specifically handle the baby's arrival.

It turned out that she behaved very well. She was curious, but otherwise fine with Jac. Paula was even well behaved when the respiratory tech was at the house. At one point, the respiratory tech stood right over her -- and she didn't mind it. In fact, she even licked him a couple times when he was close to her.

Knutson, our older dog, was completely lovely as usual. He, too, was curious about Jac.

  1. How great to be home! We worried about one of our dogs, too (anxiety, high prey drive), but she turned out to be the best baby dog! (whew!)

It looks like you've got everything in place for a smooth transition - I hope it all goes well!

  2. Yes, our parrot was definitely curious about our little guy....one thing I remember in particular, was that the parrot would always be with Gaela when she was pregnant.....almost as if he knew she needed to be protected.

Truly amazing how they all know they play a role.
