Jac was having a bit of a tough day today. His reflux was worse and he was showing it. He ate a bit at every feeding today - but never a whole feed. Every time I tried to feed him he started out fussing and hungry - ate a bit - and then the reflux started and he stopped eating.
I asked the NNP to give him his MCT oil and his Prevacid at different feedings as the oil in all likelihood interferes with the action of the Prevacid - at the very least it does not hurt to separate them.
We spent about 6 hours today doing Kangaroo care and it was very nice. It is hard to sit for that long!
The fact that he was interested and awake for all of his feedings is great and hopefully the reflux will be a bit better tomorrow and he will eat more!
He lost 6 grams yesterday but gained 52 today! He is now 1646 grams or 3 pounds and 10 ounces! He has enough fat on him (he had virtually none when he was born) that he has a little tiny neck roll with a little dried milk in it! This is a huge change - and he is really starting to look like a term baby - just small!
His neck will never be clean again! Ok, maybe for 10 minutes after a bath, but that's it. :)
