I am dead tired! So many things to wash! I feel like my title should be washer woman aka Mom!
It is amazing how much wash there is to do when you are expressing milk and then feeding that! We have to do that for now as we are fortifying the milk to get Jac extra calories. Normal breast milk is considered to be 20 kcal per ounce and we are fortifying to 26 kcal per ounce.
Since he left the hospital we have been trying to figure out the right formula to use that doesn't leave him too farty (hard to do!). We have tried a couple of different things - hopefully now we have found one that works. We are just adding Nutramigen Lipil - 25 ml to 50 ml of EBM (Expressed Breast Milk). His farts stink of the Nutramigen but hopefully they will be less painful. On Saturday he was waking up crying when he had to pass gas - at that time we were adding Neosure to the breastmilk.
Alright - off for a night of Jac! Hopefully it will go as smoothly as today did. Daddy and Jac are curently asleeep in the lounge chair after they each ate.

Taj, we had the same problem with Matteo, we finally tried Similac Alumentum, it is pre-digested and broken down to reduce gas.
ReplyDeleteOf course talk to your doctor first. It worked with Matteo....it was three days before we noticed a difference.
