Return to base!
The drive ended up being too hard. In 6 hours, they only made it down to Pueblo, about 140 miles from Boulder. There was a lot of stoppage time from Jac's crying; the dogs (Knutson, in particular) were uncomfortable, and the overall situation was just too unpleasant. They are returning home now, and should be back around 2 am.

I'm sorry it went so poorly! We haven't had the guts to drive to LA with Luke yet (from Salt Lake), and he's 14 months. We did drive from LA to San Francisco, and it didn't go very well. We solve this problem (for now) by having David drive the dogs, and I fly with the kids. I hope you have a much better day today!
ReplyDeleteHow disappointing. I'm sorry too. I hope you can all get some sleep and try again tomorrow. I have no idea the seating situation but can Taj sit with Jac in the back so she can feed him a bottle as they go and then maybe he'll fall asleep? Of course, you probably tried that!
